About The Role

As a Supermarket Assistant Branch Cook, you'll work in our back-of-house in one of our shops' Partner Dining Rooms, providing hot and cold food for Partners during their breaks. When not in the kitchen, you'll support the wider shop floor team as a Supermarket Assistant, delivering excellent service and passion for food.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen with support from management.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe kitchen environment.
• Control portions, prepare and store food properly, and minimize wastage to protect profits.
• Adhere to high food hygiene standards.
• Support shop floor tasks such as stock replenishment, fulfilling online orders, reducing wastage, and assisting with customer service and shopkeeping duties.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

• Experience as a cook in catering or hospitality.
• Passion for food and serving nutritious menus.
• Customer-focused with good engagement skills.
• Commercial awareness to drive sales and control costs.
• Flexibility to work between kitchen and shop floor.

Desirable skills/experience

• City & Guilds 706 1 and 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
