To be suitable for this role, you should have a good standard of education including maths and English, a professional telephone manner, and proven experience in a similar environment. You should possess a customer-first approach, work well in a team and independently, and be able to multitask (e.g., picking stock, answering calls, replying to emails). The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.
Main duties of the role include:
- Staying updated with all company products, training, sales initiatives, and promotions to effectively inform customers.
- Developing detailed knowledge of the FSW product portfolio to advise customers confidently.
- Accurately processing and picking order requests for stock items for customer collection or delivery.
- Building excellent relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers via in-person, telephone, and email communication.
- Handling customer requests, orders, and complaints promptly and accurately to ensure satisfaction.
- Preparing the branch trade counter and customer area to be fully stocked, clean, and appealing.
- Serving customers at the trade counter according to company standards.
- Raising competitive sales quotations and following up to complete sales.
- Sourcing and ordering non-stocked items from other branches or via the Purchasing Department.
- Maintaining stock levels and participating in stock takes.
- Managing product returns efficiently, including warranty items.
- Keeping branch administration organized, including filing, records, and health and safety documentation.
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment, complying with health and safety policies, including PPE usage.
- Undertaking driver duties as required, which necessitates a full UK driving license.
- Ensuring vehicle safety before journeys, conducting daily vehicle checks, reporting defects, and completing trip logs.
- Driving safely, adhering to traffic laws, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
- Keeping accurate delivery records and submitting documentation timely.
