Job summary

The Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled Brake Press Setter for an on-site role in Tamworth. You will set up and operate CNC and conventional press brakes, select tooling, interpret drawings, and program machine settings to produce precise sheet metal components.

A strong eye for tolerances and quality, plus knowledge of common controls (Bystronic/Amada/Trumpf/LVD), is essential. Join a hands-on manufacturing team and contribute to efficient production, routine maintenance, and accurate

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating brake presses in sheet metal manufacture.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret bend schedules.
• Familiar with tooling selection, die setup, and gauging tolerances.
• Competence with measuring equipment (verniers, calipers, angle gauges).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and conventional press brake machines according to drawings and production needs.
• Install and align tooling, punches, and dies for each job.
• Program and adjust machine settings (bend angles, back gauges, material position).
• Carry out first-off inspections and dimensional checks for tolerance conformity.
• Maintain quality and meet production deadlines; complete paperwork accurately.
• Report faults and perform basic maintenance; keep the area safe and tidy.
