Manchester and North West Wales - Wilmslow

Wilmslow, Cheshire
£15.68 per hour
Flexibility with hours required, up to 8 hr Day Shifts | Monday to Friday | Between 8:00am and 8:00pm

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a young adult living in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Our client lives with a brain injury sustained at birth and is visually impaired. He is looking for a support worker who can provide companionship, encouragement, and assistance to help him lead an active and fulfilling life. This is very much a buddy-style support role, focused on building a positive relationship and supporting him both at home and within the community.

He enjoys going on drives, gaming, swimming, attending community activities, and practising his Christian faith. Support with epilepsy management is also required as part of this role.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the client with his individual routines and daily activities
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting with community access, social outings, and recreational activities
  • Supporting the client's Christian religious practices where required
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and wellbeing
  • Assisting with epilepsy management in line with training and care plans
  • Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any changes or concerns
  • Working collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Personal Assistant, Rehabilitation Assistant, Brain Injury Support Worker, or Complex Care Support Worker
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, neurological conditions, brain injury, epilepsy, or visual impairment is desirable
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Flexibility to work shifts between 8:00am and 8:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)

Training & Compliance

Successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check. Full specialist training and ongoing support will be provided before working with the client.
