Job summary

The accessibility co-ordinator role supports the bowel screening team at East Kent screening centre. The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver outreach health promotion and improvements in health outcomes and reductions in health inequalities in the East Kent population.

The role will extend awareness of the bowel screening programme and promote its benefits to eligible people, collaborating with community groups to boost uptake of FIT.

Responsibilities

• Promote the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme by providing information, advice and support to eligible populations, encouraging participation and improving access to screening.
• Plan and deliver community outreach and health promotion activities across East Kent, developing accessible resources and campaigns to raise awareness of bowel cancer screening.
• Build strong partnerships with healthcare providers, community organisations and stakeholders to increase screening uptake, particularly among underserved populations, and support initiatives that reduce health inequalities.
• Monitor programme performance through audits, data analysis and reporting, including contributing to Health Equity Audits and continuous service improvement.
• Provide administrative support to the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme by maintaining accurate records, supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring compliance with national guidance, Trust policies and governance standards.
