Employment Type: Full Time - Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Flexible start and finish times available.

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper seeking a new opportunity? Our client, a well-established organisation based in Tonbridge, is looking for a proactive and skilled Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a great chance to work with a dynamic organisation that values teamwork and encourages professional growth.

You will be responsible for preparing VAT returns, managing daily bookkeeping tasks, management accounts, budgets, cash flow, credit control, and liaising with clients to resolve queries. You will develop relationships with your own set of clients and take guidance from a Senior Bookkeeper, but independence and willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare VAT and Construction Industry Scheme returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  2. Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including management accounts, budgets, cash flows, and credit control.
  3. Support clients on-site or at the office.
  4. Address client inquiries related to bookkeeping, VAT, or CIS.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Proficiency in accounting software, with Xero experience being essential. Knowledge of QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent is preferred.
  2. Possession of an AAT or equivalent relevant qualification.
  3. Experience with payroll processing is advantageous.
  4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, supported by the team.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  6. Experience in bookkeeping within a practice setting is desirable but not essential.
  7. Full driving licence required.
