Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd in Canvey Island is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a friendly practice. You will manage a portfolio of around 30 clients across various sectors, delivering accurate day-to-day bookkeeping and VAT/CIS compliance.

Working with QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and Excel, you will ensure MTDS compliance and timely reporting, while building strong relationships with clients and partners to provide an exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience bookkeeping in an accountancy practice.
• Solid VAT and CIS knowledge.
• Familiar with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Proficient with QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 30 bookkeeping clients.
• Process day-to-day bookkeeping for a variety of businesses across multiple sectors.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Complete CIS returns where required.
• Support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
• Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and Microsoft Excel.
• Liaise with clients to obtain information, answer queries and resolve bookkeeping issues.
• Work closely with partners to deliver an efficient service across their client portfolios.
• Handle a varied workload, supporting clients of different sizes with differing bookkeeping requirements.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and in line with deadlines.
