Job description

Founded in 2010, PLG pioneered the full-stack re-commerce solution for returns and excess inventory management. Operating in over 60 markets worldwide, PLG has recently expanded into B2C and D2C services with the launch of its marketplace, www.rlvd.com, and syndication services.

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper for our London office. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload and prioritising tasks in a challenging and commercial environment.

As a part of the finance department, the appointed person will carry out bookkeeping and accounting.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  1. Bookkeeping and preparing bank reconciliations and controls.
  2. Processing of purchase invoices, supplier payments and remittances and liaising with suppliers.
  3. Maintaining customers’ accounting records and reconciliations. Dealing with queries from suppliers and customers.
  4. Preparing and posting journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and month end control reconciliations.
  5. Preparation of VAT returns and EC Sales Lists.
  6. Intrastate reporting.
  7. Preparing monthly management reports.
  8. Assisting business development team with data analysis.

Other Duties:

  1. Office admin.
  2. Assisting with basic tax compliance matters.
  3. Attendance at other Parker Lane offices, as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Education to a minimum of A Level/GNVQ or equivalent.
  2. English and Maths GCSE’s grade A-C, or overseas equivalent.
  3. Qualifications: AAT desirable.
  4. Fresher/1 year experience in a bookkeeping and/or accounting role.
  5. Knowledge of regulations governing exports and imports from/to the UK essential.
  6. Good working knowledge of VAT/Intrastat and EC Sales Lists.
  7. Knowledge of XERO accounting software is preferable.
  8. Good level of IT knowledge and skills.
