Job Description:
Our client is seeking a confident, adaptable, and driven individual to join their Heating & Engineering team as a Boiler & Maintenance Manager. This office-based role is a key position within the company, responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to the continued success of the business.
About the Role:
In this dynamic role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the office while providing vital technical support to field engineers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support to field engineers
- Managing the operations of the office, including overseeing administrative duties, ensuring the efficient functioning of the office
- Scheduling routine boiler maintenance services efficiently and ensuring accurate diary management for the engineering team
- Coordinating engineer availability and appointments for non-routine maintenance (e.g., breakdowns)
- Monitoring open jobs to ensure timely progression and completion
- Providing prompt and professional responses to customer enquiries
- Raising purchase orders and managing stock deliveries
- Overseeing invoicing and ensuring all general office tasks are completed accurately and on time
- Handling customer complaints effectively and ensuring appropriate follow-up
- Coordinating engineer training (OFTEC & Gas Safe) and ensuring compliance
- Conducting periodic stock checks
- Collaborating with department heads across offices to promote a unified team approach and uphold high service standards
About You:
We’re looking for a candidate with:
- Proven leadership and management experience, preferably in an engineering or technical environment
- A solid technical understanding of boilers, including LPG and oil systems would be highly desirable
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
- The ability to prioritise tasks, multitask effectively, and remain calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
