Job summary

Pybus Recruitment Ltd in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Bodyshop Manager to lead a busy accident repair centre. You will oversee daily operations, drive quality, safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction while managing a skilled team in a fast-paced workshop.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will coordinate repairs, plan capacity, ensure timely progress updates, and develop staff through coaching and training in a supportive, professional environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a bodyshop or workshop team.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and workshop operations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communication and leadership abilities.
  • Strong IT and systems proficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the team starts at 7:00am and prepares equipment.
  • Hold daily morning meetings to allocate work and set targets.
  • Oversee use of equipment, tools and PPE for safety and efficiency.
  • Liaise with senior management on vehicle progress and workload.
  • Update repair management systems for timely customer updates.
  • Order parts for upcoming repairs at least three days ahead.
  • Manage workshop capacity and vehicle throughput.
  • Ensure repair documentation and image records are complete.
  • Monitor and control wet and dry stock levels.
  • Maintain quality control throughout the repair process.
  • Drive performance, productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Support development and wellbeing of team members.

Pybus Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced and drivenBodyshop Managerto join a leading accident repair centre in Cardiff.

This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a busy, modern repair facility, ensuring exceptional standards of quality, customer service, productivity, and team performance are maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running of the workshop while supporting and developing the team. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will work in a fast-paced, professional environment where operational excellence and customer satisfaction are at the heart of everything you do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the team is ready to begin work at 7:00am, including opening the workshop and preparing equipment.
  • Hold daily morning meetings to allocate work, communicate targets, and address operational issues.
  • Oversee the correct use of equipment, tools, and PPE, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Liaise with senior management regarding vehicle progress, workload, and operational challenges.
  • Ensure repair management systems are updated accurately to provide customers with timely progress updates.
  • Order parts for upcoming repairs at least three business days in advance where possible.
  • Manage workshop capacity and vehicle throughput effectively.
  • Ensure all repair documentation and image records are completed accurately.
  • Monitor and control wet and dry stock levels.
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout every stage of the repair process.
  • Drive performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction across the operation.
  • Support the ongoing development and wellbeing of team members.

  • Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and workshop operations.
