Job summary

British Marinemember's Engineering Department in Old Windsor is seeking an enthusiastic person to help with boat maintenance at our Runnymede Boat House boat yard, near the M25 in West London.

The role involves maintenance and servicing of our fleet of Class V passenger vessels on the River Thames, with opportunities in mechanical engineering, diesel power trains, hydraulics, welding and carpentry. Training can be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering disciplines across mechanical, automotive, agricultural or marine engineering.
• Self-motivated with the ability to analyse problems and identify solutions.
• Willingness to work in boat maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ongoing maintenance and servicing of the fleet of Class V passenger vessels.
• Perform mechanical tasks including diesel power systems, hydraulics, welding and carpentry as needed.

Job description

Our Engineering Department is looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to help with a wide variety of boat maintenance duties at our boat yard at Runnymede Boat House in Old Windsor near the M25 in West London.

The work is based on the ongoing maintenance and servicing of our fleet of Class V passenger vessels, operating on the mid non-tidal River Thames. The role would suit someone with experience in general engineering, automotive engineering or agricultural engineering as well as marine engineering.

The role will cover some or all of the following disciplines:

• Mechanical engineering
• Diesel power plants, marine gearboxes and power trains
• Basic hydraulics
• Welding and fabrication
• Carpentry and finishing skills

Training can be provided where needed.

The successful applicant will need to be self motivated, able to analyse problems and identify potential solutions
