Job summary

Homes in Somerset invites individuals to join its Board as a non-executive member. The role involves governance oversight, risk management, and strategic input for social housing. You will engage in board meetings, audit and other committees, and contribute to safeguarding residents.

The remuneration is £4,775 per year plus reasonable expenses; training and Spotlight sessions are provided; two board innovation days annually and annual appraisal; closing date 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience serving on a board or governance body.
• Strong interest in social housing and community impact.
• Willingness to undertake training and induction for role.

Responsibilities

• Attend board meetings in-person every other month and participate in two-day Board Innovation days twice a year.
• Join committees such as Audit and Risk, Development, Remuneration & Nominations, and Strategic Tenants Committee.
• Participate in ad-hoc ambassadorial work and attend conferences.
• Annual appraisal of performance.
