Job summary

Homes in Somerset invites applications for a Board Member to help steer governance and strategic direction of the Company. The role requires commitment to fiduciary duties, attending in-person board meetings, and participating in committees.

You will contribute to risk management, set strategic objectives, and uphold high standards of governance, transparency and accountability, with additional training and occasional travel to conferences.

Qualifications

  • Attendance at an average of six Board meetings per year, plus Committee and/or working group meetings as appropriate.
  • Two Board Member Innovation Days per year, Spotlight sessions, and a minimum of training days each year.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and to uphold high standards of governance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure governance in line with Articles of Association and regulatory framework.
  • Set overall strategic direction and development of the Company.
  • Oversee risk management framework to safeguard assets and reputation.
  • Provide oversight and challenge to the Chief Executive and Executive Team.
  • Represent the Company at events and conferences.
