Job summary

Roadhogs in Lincolnshire is recruiting an Assistant Boar Stud Manager to support the Farm Manager in a brand new boar stud and laboratory facility. You will help manage day-to-day operations, ensure welfare and biosecurity standards, and contribute to high-quality genetic material production.

The role is hands-on and requires collaboration across the operation to drive performance and continuous improvement, with a schedule Monday to Friday plus occasional weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pigs and an understanding of animal welfare standards.
• Confidence working around large animals.
• Good physical fitness.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to growth, both personal and the Farm's.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support colleagues in day-to-day management.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Boar Stud Manager and support audits and vet visits.
• Collect genetic material from boars according to established protocols.
• Support production of high-quality breeding material for artificial insemination.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of the collection area.
• Move pigs between housing units and the collection yard.
• Monitor animal behaviour and welfare throughout the process.
• Maintain accurate records of collections and observations.
• Maintain high biosecurity and cleanliness across the farm.
• On-farm laboratory work.
