Job summary

Roadhogs Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Boar Stud Manager in Lincolnshire (LN7) to support the Farm Manager in a new boar stud and laboratory facility. The role emphasises animal welfare, biosecurity, audit compliance and high standards of care.

You will assist with boar care, genetic material production and laboratory tasks, contributing to continuous improvement across the operation. The position is full-time with a 39-hour week, Mon-Fri, plus one weekend a month on a rota.

Qualifications

• Experience with pigs and animal welfare standards.
• Confidence working around large animals.
• Good physical fitness.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to growth of self and the farm.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support day-to-day management.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Boar Stud Manager and assist at audits and vet visits.
• Collect genetic material from boars per protocols.
• Support production of breeding material for AI.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of the collection area.
• Move pigs between housing and collection yard.
• Monitor animal behaviour and welfare.
• Maintain records of collections and observations.
• Maintain biosecurity and cleanliness across the farm.
• On-farm laboratory work.
