Job summary

SER Limited is seeking an experienced BMS Operations Manager to lead the Projects Division in London with occasional travel to Colchester. The role focuses on delivering BMS projects safely, on time and within budget, while developing teams and maintaining client relationships.

You will drive operational performance, oversee multiple projects, and report to senior leadership. The position offers a salary of £65,000–£80,000 plus car allowance, bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in BMS project management or operations, in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of BMS project delivery: installation, commissioning, integration, handover.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects, budgets and financial performance.
• Experience developing project managers, engineers or multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of governance, planning, resource management and risk mitigation.
• Commercial awareness with ability to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with clients and senior managers.
• Proactive in problem-solving, process improvement and team development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the BMS Projects Division delivering on time and within budget.
• Lead and develop project managers and delivery teams.
• Monitor project progress, financial performance, resource allocation and risks across the project portfolio.
• Implement project management processes, governance and reporting procedures.
• Work closely with senior management to develop operational strategies and growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee project handovers from sales and estimating through to delivery and completion, ensuring a smooth transition at every stage.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, profitability and project delivery processes.
• Support recruitment, workforce planning and the development of the Projects Division as the business grows.
• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, contractual compliance and quality assurance across all projects.
