Job summary

Skilled Careers seeks an experienced BMS Project Manager to own the BMS package on a flagship data centre project in East London. You will manage the BMS subcontractor from installation through commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, quality and programme performance.

Working for a Tier-1 contractor, you will coordinate with MEP teams, review technical submittals and drive progress meetings to deliver the project on time. Immediate start and long-term prospects on offer.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering BMS packages on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Building Management Systems, controls and commissioning.
• Experience managing specialist BMS subcontractors on behalf of a main contractor.
• Experience on data centre, commercial, pharmaceutical, healthcare or similar mission-critical projects is desirable.
• Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor background handling MEP/BMS packages.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• SMSTS and CSCS are essential; First Aid is advantageous.

BMS Project Manager - Data Centre

East London | Long-Term Contract | Up to £550 per day

We are recruiting for an experienced BMS Project Manager to join a flagship data centre project based in East London.

Working for the Tier 1 contractor, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of the Building Management System (BMS) package, managing the specialist BMS subcontractor from installation through commissioning and final handover. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile project with a long-term contract and the potential for future work.

The Role

As the BMS Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of the BMS package, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and programme performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the BMS subcontractor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating BMS works with MEP contractors and the wider construction team.
• Monitoring programme, quality and installation progress.
• Reviewing technical submittals, RFIs and design documentation.
• Chairing progress meetings and coordinating with consultants, subcontractors and the client team.
• Managing commissioning activities through to practical completion.
• Ensuring all testing, commissioning and handover documentation is completed.
• Identifying project risks and driving programme delivery.
• Reporting progress to the Project Director and Senior Management.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience delivering BMS packages on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Building Management Systems, controls and commissioning.
• Experience managing specialist BMS subcontractors on behalf of a main contractor.
• Previous experience working on data centre, commercial, pharmaceutical, healthcare or other mission‑critical projects is highly desirable.
• Candidates will ideally come from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor background, with experience managing specialist MEP or BMS packages on complex projects.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• SMSTS and CSCS are essential. First Aid is advantageous.
