Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a commissioning engineer for the North East UK to join a team of engineers supporting customers with installing and commissioning building management systems. You will pre‑commission panels, commission controllers and networks, and integrate third‑party systems as part of customer orders.

Role requires electrical engineering background, customer‑facing experience, and the ability to work independently or with project teams.

Qualifications

  • Background in electrical engineering or related subject is advantageous.
  • Experience in a similar role is beneficial but on‑the‑job training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of controls concepts for HVAC is desirable.
  • Experience working in a customer‑facing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and healthy working environment at office or site locations.
  • Pre‑commission control panels and field devices on new or existing systems.
  • Commission controllers, networks and field devices into a complete control system.
  • Integrate third party systems onto existing systems.
  • Write and commission controller software through the Graphical User Interface.
  • Hand over and demonstrate the completed system to customer/consultant.
  • Design and manage installations with support of Project Managers.
  • Maintain relationships with customers to be their trusted expert.

We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join us in the North East, you will join our team of Engineers supporting our customers with installing and commissioning our solutions as part of customer orders incorporating the software, graphics, installation and commissioning of building management control systems.

Your responsibilities:
  • To ensure a safe and healthy working environment for themselves and others, at office or site locations. Operating to site requirements, Project Method statements and risk assessments, Schneider Electric Health & Safety Systems
  • To pre-commission control panels, field devices onto new and existing systems
  • To commission controllers, networks and field devices into a complete control system
  • To integrate third party systems onto existing systems
  • Writing and commissioning controller software through to the Graphical User Interface
  • To handover and demonstrate the completed system to customer/consultant
  • To design and manage installations with the support of Project Managers
  • To maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers so that we become their trusted expert in all aspects of works
  • To configure and commission graphics and to document commissioning progress, site reports and assist with O&M manuals
About you:
  • Due to the nature of the role, background in electrical engineering or related subject is advantageous
  • Experience in a similar role would be advantageous, however on the job training will be provided
  • Knowledge of the principles of controls for HVAC
  • Experience of working in a customer-focused environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint,
  • Fluency in English is a must (Written and Verbal)
  • Hold a full driving license

For this UK based position, the expected pay range is GBP 41,200 - GBP 61,800 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United Kingdom. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
