Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is recruiting Blood Production Officers (HHTO) across England. Three full-time and three part-time posts are available. The role involves operating processing/lab equipment, quality checks and environmental monitoring, with varied hours including weekends and bank holidays.

Training and support to staff are part of the duties, and records must be kept accurately. This NHSBT position requires Level 3 science qualifications or equivalent, IT skills, and a collaborative

Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing or laboratory environments is advantageous.
• Experience with Information Technology such as Microsoft Office.
• Level 3 qualification (A levels or NVQ3) or extensive experience in manufacturing/logistics/supply chain.
• Willingness to undertake further training and development.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine tasks for issuing blood donations to hospitals under supervision.
• Provide support and training to less experienced staff.
• Carry out precise repetitive manipulation of equipment and samples and routine tasks.
• Handle blood bags and a range of equipment on site.
• Work variable hours including weekends and bank holidays as per roster.
