Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant in the UK seeks a Senior Healthcare Technical Officer to coordinate emergency deliveries, ensure orders are entered promptly, and assist in training staff. Plymouth duties include transporting donations and collecting products from donor sessions in Devon and Cornwall.

The role requires a Level 4 science qualification or NHSBT Foundation Degree, IT familiarity, and a willingness to undertake training. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising others.
• Experience with Information Technology such as Microsoft Office.
• Level 4 qualification (BTEC/HNC) or NHSBT Foundation Degree or equivalent knowledge.
• Willingness to undertake further training and development.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of scientific and technical activities related to blood donations with the team.
• Support and train new and less experienced staff.
• Undertake precise repetitive manipulation of equipment and blood samples/donations.
• Handle blood bags and a range of equipment.
• Manual handling of equipment up to 13 kgs with training.
