Framestore VR Studio in London seeks a versatile Visual Development artist to shape look development and lighting across Blender-driven sequences. You will own modelling, shading, lighting and rendering for creatures, environments and FX, and push photoreal quality from concept to preproduction.

You will collaborate with supervisors and the Head Of Department to ensure clean handoffs into production, while sharing workflows and techniques with the team.

Qualifications

• Extensive Blender experience across modelling, sculpting, UVs, shading/texturing, lighting and rendering.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating frame and shot composition.
• Solid experience in film VFX 3D processes and cinematography in virtual environments.
• Proficiency in look development and lighting using Blender’s node system.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving visual issues while maintaining quality.
• Ability to take direction and keep scenes, .blend files and node setups organized.

Responsabilités

• Develop high-end, photorealistic visual development assets across creatures, environments and FX.
• Sculpt and detail creatures, build environments, and art-direct FX moments to establish look and mood.
• Work end-to-end in Blender – modelling, sculpting, shading, lighting and rendering.
• Build look development and lighting setups that hold up to photoreal scrutiny with Blender nodes.
• Use Geometry Nodes and node-based workflows to iterate on environments and FX.
• Collaborate with supervisors and the HOD to ensure smooth transition into production.
• Communicate your creative process clearly to artists and stakeholders.
