Job summary

NIF in London is seeking a Product Development Scientist to join our DevOps team at Scale Space, White City. You will help shape biological components into packaged products, defining formulation, storage and specifications, and building evidence for reliable performance.

This is a structured lab role with planned stability studies and routine testing on our nanopore platform, supported by electrophysiology and big data analysis. You will work with Biologics, platform, engineering and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc or equivalent in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology or related field.
• Hands-on experience developing, optimising or testing biological products or workflows.
• Experience running structured, repeated studies with careful record-keeping.
• Experience analysing large datasets with Python or R and statistics.
• Ability to launch products with independent work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, run and report stability and shelf-life studies, including real-time and accelerated tests.
• Shape product formulation, component format, kit configuration and specifications.
• Run controlled performance testing on the platform using electrophysiology.
• Analyse large datasets with Python or similar; apply statistics to support decisions.
• Troubleshoot and improve performance, robustness and reproducibility.
• Define what is needed to launch each product and build it within the eQMS.
• Write protocols, reports and SOPs; support method transfer to Biologics production.
• Collaborate with Biologics, platform, engineering, data science and R&D teams.
