Job summary

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a Research Assistant (Fixed Term) to support Bioprinting New Alternative Methodologies in the Boroviak Lab at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. This full-time, on-site post combines stem cell biology, tissue culture and bioengineering.

You will help establish, optimise and characterise bioprinted tissue models, maintain equipment, train visiting researchers, and contribute to collaborative projects across the Institute.

Qualifications

• Strong background in biology and laboratory work.
• Experience with mammalian tissue culture preferred.
• Experience with stem cell or organoid culture would be ideal.
• Bioprinting, bioengineering or 3D culture familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Establish, optimise and characterise bioprinted tissue models.
• Maintain infrastructure for bioprinting activities and manage cell cultures.
• Order equipment and reagents as required, and ensure safety procedures.
• Train students and visiting researchers in techniques and equipment use.
• Collaborate with Boroviak Lab and Cambridge Stem Cell Institute researchers.
