Job summary

At Ipswich Hospital, we are looking for a Biomedical Scientist in Histopathology to join us. You will be working in a busy, dedicated, and friendly team that supports and actively encourages your training and development.

You will be a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with a Biomedical Science BSc degree or equivalent, with evidence of CPD and experience in Histopathology.

Main duties of the job
  1. Undertake testing and processing of biomedical specimens, analyze and record results, and enter information into laboratory IT systems.
  2. Work flexibly according to service needs, which may include extended working hours.
  3. Supervise and/or train less experienced staff in your area of work and competency.
  4. Handle human body fluids, tissues, and hazardous chemicals, including blood, pus, urine, feces, and respiratory secretions.
  5. Maintain and promote a professional image of the organization.
  6. Participate in maintaining our quality management system.
