Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Biomedical Scientist Blood Transfusion in Brighton to join a busy transfusion laboratory. The role focuses on blood group serology, antibody screening and cross-matching to ensure compatible transfusions and patient safety.

The successful candidate will work with haematologists and clinical teams, maintain records, support quality control, and help train staff, with Monday to Friday hours and ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Knowledge in Winpath and Blood 360 preferable.
• Extensive experience in blood transfusion and serology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• The role requires expertise in blood group serology, antibody screening, and cross-matching to ensure compatibility for transfusions.
• The scientist will be responsible for interpreting transfusion test results, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation standards.
• Additionally, they will assist in quality control procedures, support training and competency assessments, and contribute to the day-to-day running of the transfusion laboratory.
