Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Biochemical Genetics Unit. The role involves undertaking testing and processing of biological specimens, entering results into hospital IT systems, and communicating results to service users.

You must be HCPC registered or on track to registration and be able to work shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Biomedical Science degree or equivalent is required.
• HCPC registration or on track to obtain it.
• Portfolio/registration assessment may be considered for starting Band 4.

Responsibilities

• Undertake testing and processing of biological specimens.
• Enter results into hospital IT systems and communicate them to service users.
• Work flexibly including extended hours and 24/7 service.
• Supervise or train less experienced staff.
