A vacancy has arisen for a Biomedical Scientist to join our friendly and hardworking team in the Clinical Chemistry department at Sheffield Children's Hospital, part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Network hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH). The successful candidate will rotate between acute, metabolic, and regional newborn bloodspot screening.
We seek highly motivated, enthusiastic Biomedical Scientists with a flexible approach to work. Participation in out-of-hours services is essential once deemed competent, with the acute service operating 24/7, 365 days a year.
Applicants must possess an IBMS-accredited degree in Biomedical Sciences, preferably with relevant Clinical Chemistry experience, and hold current HCPC registration. For Band 6 roles, completion of the IBMS specialist portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry is required.
This vacancy is banded based on experience, typically starting at Band 5 unless the candidate meets the criteria for Band 6.
