Job summary

Seras UK is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the Widnes biomass fuel production site, ensuring safety, compliance and efficient operations.

You'll own health, safety and environmental standards, manage budgets and oversee feedstock, production, maintenance and quality. The role requires 3–5 years in operations management at large facilities, with biomass or waste wood experience, and strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong H&S and regulatory compliance background.
• Experience running large-scale production facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, compliant operation of Widnes biomass facilities.
• Meet daily production, quality and customer demand.
• Champion Health, Safety and Environmental standards site-wide.
• Use KPIs and data to drive safety, production and cost.
• Own fuel quality control and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate deliveries with contracts, logistics and customers.
• Build relationships with customers and plant operators at senior level.
• Identify and manage operational and contractual risks; escalate as needed.
• Lead, develop and performance-manage the operations team.
• Plan maintenance to maximise plant availability and minimize downtime.
• Control budgets, optimise resources, deliver cost-effective operations.
• Drive waste reduction and efficiency gains.
