University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Biomedical Scientist (Biochemistry) based at Queens Hospital Burton with cross-site working as required. You will join a busy Biochemistry Department, delivering technical excellence, day-to-day sample processing, and shadowing of result authorisation.

The role supports 24/7 shift patterns, including nights, weekends and bank holidays, with training and competency assessment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Biochemistry laboratory setting.
• Willing to work cross-site and shift patterns.
• Competency assessment and training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day sample processing.
• Assist with analyser maintenance and shadow authorisation of results to maintain KPIs.
• Participate in quality management and service development projects.
