Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Biochemistry Subject Matter Expert to help train and refine AI models. PhD-level biochemists will design problems, author solutions, and audit AI outputs to improve scientific reasoning. This is a fully remote, hourly contract with flexible 10–40 hours per week, worldwide.

Ideal candidates hold an advanced degree in biochemistry or related fields, with strong domain knowledge in enzymology, metabolism, or bioinformatics. Experience with PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST is a plus.

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in progress) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
• Domain Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge in structural biology, enzymology, metabolism, or bioinformatics
• Clear Communicator: Able to explain complex biological concepts in precise written form
• Detail-Oriented: High accuracy when reviewing equations, diagrams, and protocols
• No prior AI experience

Responsibilities

• Design advanced problems across nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, enzyme kinetics, and drug-target interactions
• Author gold-standard solutions with precise, step-by-step reasoning
• Audit AI outputs for technical accuracy and adherence to scientific standards
• Refine AI reasoning by identifying errors and providing structured feedback
