Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a BIM / Revit MEP Technician in Birmingham to join a growing engineering team. You will produce accurate BIM models and technical drawings across healthcare, education, commercial sectors, coordinating with engineers and architects to deliver integrated designs.

The role covers early design through detailed delivery, with emphasis on clash detection, project BIM standards, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Practical experience of Revit and BIM within an MEP environment.
• Experience producing MEP models and technical drawings.
• Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services.
• Experience in multidisciplinary design environments.
• Strong attention to detail and organised work approach.
• Ability to turn technical information into accurate models.
• Good communication and collaborative approach.
• Experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM coordination or clash detection is beneficial.

BIM / Revit MEP Technician

Birmingham | Permanent | Full-time

We're working with an established building performance engineering consultancy that is growing its Birmingham team and looking for a BIM / Revit MEP Technician to join the business at an exciting stage of its development.

With a strong track record across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, leisure and infrastructure, the business delivers technically challenging MEP projects where good coordination and high-quality digital modelling are central to successful delivery.

The Birmingham office is entering a significant period of growth, with an ambition to double the size of the team over the next two years. This is a great opportunity to join early in that growth and play a key role in helping shape the BIM capability of the office.

The Role

As a BIM / Revit MEP Technician, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and designers to produce accurate, coordinated BIM models and technical drawings across a range of building services projects.

You’ll be involved in projects from early design through to detailed delivery, working closely with engineers, architects, contractors and other members of the design team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing and developing MEP models using Revit
• Creating detailed technical drawings and documentation
• Supporting the delivery of coordinated BIM projects
• Working with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop design information
• Coordinating building services with architectural and structural elements
• Identifying and resolving clashes and modelling issues

About You

We're looking for someone with practical experience of Revit and BIM within an MEP environment.

You might already be working as a BIM Technician, Revit Technician, MEP Technician, Building Services Technician or similar, and be looking for your next opportunity in a growing consultancy.

We'd particularly like to hear from people who have:

• Good working knowledge of Autodesk Revit
• Experience producing MEP models and technical drawings
• An understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment
• Good attention to detail and an organised approach to your work
• The ability to understand technical information and turn it into accurate models
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
• A genuine interest in developing your BIM and technical skillsExperience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM coordination or clash detection would also be beneficial.
