Job summary

Aptean is seeking a Billing Specialist for our Sheffield, UK office. The role focuses on accurate global invoicing, asset management, and sales administration duties within a collaborative team.

You will validate invoicing against contracts, apply correct VAT, handle billing queries, and support month-end activities. Proficiency in Excel and exposure to Salesforce/Intacct are highly valued. A fast-paced, international environment awaits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in billing or a finance-related role, preferably in a fast-paced international environment.
• Experience in a shared services finance environment is beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
• Experience with Intacct is highly beneficial but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach.
• Maturity and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting while building relationships.

Responsibilities

• Validate proposed invoicing opportunities against customer contracts.
• Verify that the correct VAT rate is applied to invoices.
• Serve as main contact for customer billing queries and disputes.
• Process asset decommissioning requests in Salesforce.
• Review documentation to select third-party or internal fulfilment.
• Understand workflow ties to financial systems (Salesforce/Intacct a plus).
• Maintain knowledge of VAT and local sales tax requirements.
• Raise accurate invoices reflecting contractual and billing terms.
• Understand the process for issuing credit notes.
• Follow established workflows within a collaborative team.
• Generate, analyse, and interpret reports and queries.
• Assist with month-end activities as required.
• Perform ad hoc administrative tasks.
