Job summary

Totum Partners is recruiting a senior Billing Manager for its London office. The role leads the billing and revenue cycle, directs the billing team, and partners with fee earners to maintain accurate, timely invoicing.

You will report on billing performance to senior stakeholders and ensure VAT/SRA compliance across the firm.

Qualifications

• Oversee London billing and revenue cycle (billing, WIP, e-billing, outstanding accounts).
• Collaborate with partners/fee earners to ensure accurate, efficient billing.
• Manage and develop the billing team; meet deadlines and objectives.
• Produce financial information for senior stakeholders on billing performance.
• Ensure billing complies with VAT, SRA and firm requirements.

Job description

Totum Partners are working with a leading US law firm to recruit a Billing Manager for its London office. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for the billing and revenue cycle, managing the billing team and working closely with partners and fee earners.

The ideal Billing Manager will be responsible for:

• Overseeing the London billing and revenue cycle, including billing, WIP, e-billing and outstanding accounts.
• Working closely with partners and fee earners to ensure billing is managed accurately and efficiently.
• Managing and developing the billing team, ensuring deadlines and departmental objectives are met.
• Producing financial information for senior stakeholders and providing updates on billing and revenue performance.
• Ensuring billing processes are compliant with VAT, SRA and firm requirements.

The ideal Billing Manager will have:

• Strong billing and revenue experience gained within a law firm.
• Previous experience managing or supervising a billing team.
• Excellent knowledge of UK and EU VAT regulations and SRA Accounts Rules.
• Experience using Elite 3E, Aderant or a similar legal finance system, alongside e-billing platforms.
• Strong Excel, communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with partners and senior stakeholders.
