Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, revise, and finalize invoices per policies.
  • Process time transfers, cost transfers, write-offs, and adjustments.
  • Manage assigned billing matters from initiation to completion.
  • Maintain and update client billing information and instructions.
  • Prioritize workload and escalate exceptions.
  • Collaborate with Billing & Collections, Leaders, PAs, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve billing issues; support process improvements.
  • Analyze billing data to support informed decisions.
  • Contribute to operational excellence; identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Job description

The Billing Analyst is responsible for providing high-quality billing services to Baker McKenzie offices worldwide, ensuring accurate invoice preparation, compliance with Firm policies, and timely delivery of invoices to clients.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, revise, and finalize invoices in accordance with Firm billing policies and procedures
  • Process time transfers, cost transfers, write-offs, and other billing adjustments as required
  • Manage assigned billing matters from initiation through completion, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
  • Maintain and update client billing information, requirements, and billing instructions
  • Prioritize workload effectively, identify potential issues, and elevate exceptions when needed
  • Collaborate with Billing & Collections teams, Functional Leaders, Partners, Personal Assistants, and other stakeholders globally
  • Assist in identifying and resolving billing-related issues and support continuous process improvements
  • Analyze billing data and complex situations to support informed decision-making
  • Contribute to operational excellence by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Liberal Arts, or a related field preferred
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous billing experience preferred; experience in other Finance functions will also be considered
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global team environment
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and proactive approach to work
  • Confidence to raise questions and elevate issues appropriately when needed
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to identify process efficiencies
  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve productivity and support decision-making
  • Flexibility to work reasonable shifting schedules as required
