Job summary

Debar Bifold-Hardware in Bradford seeks a Product Design Engineer to sustain and improve existing bifold hardware and systems. You will own engineering changes, analyze failures, and lead technical content of product updates across the released portfolio.

As part of the Technical Engineering team, you will redesign components for better performance, reliability and cost, while ensuring clear documentation and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional experience in mechanical or product design.
• Strong parametric 3D CAD skills and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience designing for manufacture and tolerance analysis.
• Knowledge of DFx and tolerancing.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across functions.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering issues and improvements for existing bifold hardware.
• Investigate failures and customer complaints; implement improvements.
• Redesign components to improve performance, reliability, or cost.
• Assess impact of changes on mating components and system.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs for product changes.
• Maintain technical documentation and data in relevant software.
• Collaborate with compliance, testing, suppliers as needed.
