Job summary

PBSC UK is seeking a Design Engineer experienced with stainless steel/sheet metal components in a machinery and manufacturing setting. You will design using Inventor, generate GA and manufacturing drawings, and produce BOMs while ensuring compliance with specifications.

Candidates should have 5+ years in design engineering, with Inventor 3D; SolidWorks or AutoCAD 2D experience is advantageous, and Vault/PDM familiarity is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in design engineering.
• Experience in a machinery & manufacturing environment.
• Ability to produce manufacturing drawings and layouts for sheet metal products.
• Knowledge of drawing and design standards.
• IT skills – Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out design functions using Inventor software.
• Produce GA drawings.
• Produce manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Ensure designs comply with contract specifications.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers for design development and approval.
• Contribute to ongoing design improvements.

As a result of continued growth, we now require a Design Engineer who has experience of working with stainless steel / sheet metal products within a machinery and manufacturing environment.

The Role

• To carry out design functions using Inventor software
• Production of GA drawings
• Production of manufacturing drawings and BOMs
• Ensure all designs comply with the required contract specifications
• Liaise with suppliers and customers as directed for the purposes of design development and approval
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of designs

Person Specification

• Inventor 3D experience required (SolidWorks experience will be considered)
• AutoCAD 2D experience preferred
• Vault or PDM experience
• Experience of working within a machinery and manufacturing environment
• Ability to produce manufacturing drawings and layouts for sheet metal products
• Knowledge of drawing and design standards
• IT skills – Including Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field of Design Engineering
