Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a Bid Manager for a public sector tenders role based in Batley with hybrid working. The role covers end-to-end bid lifecycle from identifying opportunities to submissions, pricing and post-submission reviews.

Salary is £60,000 - £70,000 with training, progression and a 25-day holiday entitlement. You will collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Finance and senior management, translating complex technical requirements into commercially compelling

Qualifications

• Experience in Bid Management or Tender Management with public-sector tenders.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into commercial proposals.
• Strong coordination skills across Sales, Engineering, Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ITT, RFP, RFQ and PQQ submissions.
• Identify and qualify suitable tender opportunities.
• Coordinate bid inputs across functions and maintain timelines.
• Write, edit and produce compelling technical and commercial responses.
• Coordinate bid planning meetings and stakeholder actions.
• Maintain tender libraries, templates and standard responses.

Are you an experienced Bid Manager or Technical Proposal Writer looking to take ownership of high-value tenders within a specialist engineering business?

Do you want autonomy, variety and the opportunity to directly influence business growth?

Join an established engineering business supplying specialist vehicles and technical equipment to customers across the UK and international markets. With a strong reputation within its sector, you'll play a key role in securing new business across public and private sector markets.

You’ll manage the full bid lifecycle, from identifying suitable opportunities and qualifying tenders through to coordinating submissions, pricing and outcome reviews. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Finance and senior management, you’ll turn complex technical requirements into commercially strong proposals.

This role would suit a Bid Manager with experience handling public-sector tenders and looking for a high-autonomy role within a specialist engineering environment.

The Role:

• Lead end-to-end ITT, RFP, RFQ and PQQ submissions
• Identify and qualify suitable tender opportunities
• Coordinate bid inputs across Sales, Engineering, Finance, Operations and Procurement
• Write, edit and produce compelling technical and commercial responses
• Coordinate bid planning meetings, deadlines and stakeholder actions
• Maintain tender libraries, templates, case studies and standard responses
• Ensure all submissions meet quality, compliance and brand standards

The Person:

• Proven experience in Bid Management, Technical Proposal Writing or Tender Management
• Experience managing public-sector tender opportunities
• Commutable to Batley office
