Job description

This role is for a Bid Manager at a leading design practice. The person will be responsible for managing the full bid process - from expressions of interest through to final submissions - across both public and private sector projects.

They'll work closely with the Partner for New Business and design teams to help win work in architecture, urban design, planning, and related areas. The role is fast-paced and requires someone highly organised, proactive, and confident working to tight deadlines.

We're looking for someone with proven experience in bid coordination, ideally in the built environment or similar sectors. They'll need strong communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple bids at once while maintaining quality and consistency.

The Bid Manager will lead and coordinate the full bid and tender process-from identifying opportunities through to final submission and outcome. They'll manage bid launches, team briefings, and ensure smooth collaboration between internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Monitoring tender portals and managing submissions via online platforms
  • Ensuring clarity on submission requirements and compliance with commercial and quality standards
  • Developing win strategies in collaboration with project leads

  • Maintaining a well-organised bid library and supporting knowledge-sharing across the business

Experience & Qualifications Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or professional training, along with significant experience in bid management-preferably within a mid-to-large architectural or design practice. They'll have a strong track record of leading bid strategies, managing full bid cycles, and delivering coordinated campaigns. Expertise in bid writing, pricing, and resource planning is essential.
