Overview of the Role

Working as part a collaborative commercial team, as our Bid Manager, you will be responsible for helping us drive business growth through the management and production of bid documentation. Duties will vary on a day-to-day basis, but typical responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for overall Bid production activity incorporating guidance from the commercial team as to overall win themes and nature of the final Bid document
  • Collaborating across the business to ensure all necessary groups are engaged as required to produce compelling, accurate and inspiring responses.
  • Compiling a risk register for all Bids and tenders
  • Producing, managing and publishing Bid management material according to PTS standards that provides an auditable trail to the business.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the Bid database.

Responsibilities

  • Production of all bid collateral and documentation.
  • Working with internal groups to ensure accurate solutions are proposed that meet the customer’s requirements and are within the PTS guidelines.
  • Ensuring a thorough understanding of customer requirements as detailed in any client supplied documentation.
  • Demonstrating sound judgement when making decisions within your authority.
  • Co-ordinating with internal support teams to ensure all responses follow the PTS processes and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world.
  • Managing bid team (currently one other member of staff).

  • Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets.
  • Driven to hit deadlines and not be distracted or diverted by irrelevant issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills.
  • IT skills, including the use of InDesign and other appropriate programmes.
  • Teamworking skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise your workload.
  • Project management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to think strategically.
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Initiative and the confidence to start things from scratch.

Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Three years’ experience of working within a bid management environment
  • Knowledge of the IT Consultancy services industry would be advantageous
