Location(s): UK, Europe & Africa : UK : Guildford

Job Title: Senior Bid Manager

Location: Frimley, London and Christchurch – Hybrid min 2 days per week in the office

A hybrid working arrangement based out of the listed Digital Intelligence sites. There will be a minimum requirement to attend the office at least twice weekly, along with regular travel to DI sites based on business needs and bid activities.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Senior Bid Manager, you'll lead the entire bid process for our larger, more complex bids from initial EoI/PQQ to tender submission and closure. Working independently, you'll manage bid processes tailored to each opportunity. Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining and implementing bid strategies to maximize P(win);
  • Managing governance and compliance, including internal bid deliverables in line with corporate processes;
  • Developing high-quality, coherent, compelling proposals following internal processes and Shipley best practices;
  • Prioritizing workload based on demand, deadlines, and business priorities;
  • Providing thought leadership to improve bidding processes within the organization;
  • Owning and enhancing bid tools, systems, and processes within our Business Winning approach;
  • Supporting training on bidding best practices across the organization.

Additional activities for specific opportunities include managing bid activities, coordinating with senior management, coaching bid teams, promoting bid quality, leading proposal development, and managing bid cycles, costs, and approvals.

Skills/Experience (At Least Two of the Following)
  • Degree qualification in Business, Sales, Engineering, or related field;
  • Approximately 10+ years' experience in competitive tendering in public or commercial sectors;
  • Current APMP certification;
  • Knowledge of best practice bidding processes (e.g., Shipley);
  • Understanding of UK Public Sector/Defense buying processes and frameworks;
  • Experience with high-value, complex bids and frameworks;
  • Knowledge of Shipley and/or Miller-Heiman methodologies (highly desirable).
