Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking an instructor for non-operational, instructional work in an establishment. You will train prisoners, foster supportive relationships, manage learning plans, and support sentence planning while adhering to safety, security, and safeguarding standards.

You will also contribute to results through effective interface with staff, record-keeping, and assessments across NVQ levels 1–2, while maintaining high standards of conduct and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering training to learners in custodial environments.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH, and safe use of machinery and tools.
• Ability to develop Individual Learning Plans and assess learner progress (NVQ levels 1/2).
• Ability to maintain learner records and evidence of learning per awarding bodies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver BICS training to prisoners and support learning goals.
• Induct prisoners and assess learning needs and progression.
• Maintain records and complete assessment/verification requirements.
