Job summary

Autotrader is seeking a BI Developer to join our Finance Systems and BI team in Manchester. You will analyse large data models, manage Looker reports, and develop data pipelines to enable data-driven decisions across the business.

You will partner with Finance to ensure data is structured for accurate analyses, build data packages and dashboards, and train colleagues to self-serve insights. This role combines hands-on BI with strategic data storytelling in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL language skills and experience with enterprise BI data platforms.
• Experience with Looker (or similar BI visualization tools) is essential.
• Experience building data transformation pipelines with dbt or ETL/ELT tools is advantageous.
• Ability to partner with internal teams to develop insights and metrics.
• Experience creating and optimizing reports/dashboards for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and review large data models and translate into insightful business metrics.
• Manage Looker reporting suite, handle support requests and data analysis tasks.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and data packages for BI needs.
• Provide Looker development training and guidance to Finance colleagues.
• Collaborate with Finance to surface data for accurate, impactful analyses.
• Serve as subject matter expert for business intelligence within the team.
