Job summary

Hastings Direct is seeking an analytics professional to deliver accurate, timely analysis and dashboards to support underwriting decisions. You will monitor KPIs, investigate drivers, and translate findings into clear insights.

You will develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, write SQL, and validate outputs while collaborating with stakeholders to answer business questions. You will work in a flexible hybrid environment, applying AI responsibly to enhance analytics delivery and drive

Qualifications

• Experience delivering analysis, management information, reporting or BI outputs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with curiosity to investigate results.
• Experience writing SQL and working with structured data.
• Experience using a BI or data visualisation tool, preferably Power BI.
• Ability to plan and structure analysis, validate outputs and deliver reliable work independently.
• Understanding of business KPIs and how analytical measures link to outcomes.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Good judgement about when to work independently, collaborate or escalate risks.
• Interest in using AI responsibly to improve analytics delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely analysis, reports and dashboards to support underwriting decisions.
• Monitor KPIs and profit drivers, identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Investigate drivers behind results and translate findings into actionable insight.
• Develop, maintain and improve Power BI dashboards and recurring reporting.
• Write SQL and analytical code with documentation and validation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
