Job summary

Hastings Direct is a digital insurance provider in the UK, hiring for a Pricing, Data and Analytics‑led role. You will develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, write SQL, and deliver insightful analysis to support underwriting decisions and portfolio performance.

You will monitor KPIs, investigate drivers, and present findings clearly to stakeholders. The role emphasizes responsible use of AI and continuous improvement within a collaborative data team.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering analysis, MI, reporting or BI outputs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with curiosity.
• Experience writing SQL and working with structured data.
• Experience using BI or data visualisation tools (Power BI).
• Plan, structure analysis, validate outputs and deliver independently.
• Understand KPIs and link analysis to outcomes.
• Clear written and verbal communication for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating when needed.
• Interest in using AI to improve analytical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver analysis, reports and dashboards supporting underwriting decisions.
• Monitor KPIs and profit drivers; identify trends and risks.
• Investigate drivers and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Develop and improve Power BI dashboards and recurring reporting.
• Write SQL and analytical code with clear documentation.
• Reconcile data sources and investigate discrepancies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into solutions.
• Present complex information with clear data visualisation and storytelling.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data quality and processes.
• Own tasks and deliverables, work autonomously while aligning priorities.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers and BI specialists.
