Job summary

Confidential – energy infrastructure sector in London seeks a BESS Asset Manager to own operational performance across a growing battery storage portfolio, acting as the link between the business, its O&M contractors, and route-to-market partners to maximise revenue and asset value.

You will manage day-to-day commercial and technical performance, oversee contractors, track availability and revenue, and ensure compliance and warranties are handled.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Energy, or related discipline.
• Experience in asset management within battery storage, renewables, or flexible generation.
• Strong commercial understanding of energy markets, route-to-market structures, and revenue optimisation.
• Confident managing O&M contractors and third-party service providers.
• Proficiency with asset performance/monitoring platforms and Microsoft Office/Power BI.
• Experience with GB balancing/ancillary services markets or equivalent European markets.
• Knowledge of grid codes, connection agreements, and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day commercial and technical performance of a portfolio of operational BESS assets.
• Oversee O&M contractors and route-to-market/optimisation partners, holding them to performance targets.
• Track asset availability, degradation, and revenue performance, reporting against budget and forecast.
• Manage warranty, insurance, and compliance obligations across the portfolio.
• Support the transition of new assets from construction into operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve asset performance, contract terms, or revenue strategy.
