St Margaret’s Hospice is seeking an experienced counsellor or psychotherapist to provide specialist bereavement assessment and support across Taunton and Yeovil. You will manage referrals, caseloads and supervise a team of Bereavement Support Volunteers and counselling students.

The role involves safeguarding, risk management and cross-team collaboration to deliver high-quality, equitable bereavement care across Somerset.

Qualifications

• Experience providing therapeutic or bereavement support.
• Ability to assess complex needs and identify/manage risk.
• Strong professional boundaries and safeguarding knowledge.
• Experience supervising volunteers or students.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsabilités

• Assess complex bereavement needs and develop person-centred support plans.
• Manage referrals and prioritise caseloads effectively.
• Provide compassionate support to people experiencing grief and loss.
• Lead, supervise and develop Bereavement Support Volunteers and counselling students.
• Recruit, induct and retain bereavement volunteers; collaborate with teams.
• Work with hospice and external services; address safeguarding and risk.
