Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Maternity Link Support Worker to support the Local Maternity and Neonatal System and deliver personalised care in community settings.

The role focuses on improving outcomes for pregnant women from ethnic minorities, coordinating with community midwives, wellbeing services, and third sector organisations, with flexible, part-time hours and a pro rata salary.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health care or equivalent.
• Key Skills – literacy/numeracy.
• GCSE pass in English Language or equivalent.
• Trained in Making Every Contact Count and Motivational Interviewing.
• Level 3 Award in British Sign Language or equivalent.
• Level 3 Certificate in Community Interpreting or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload, handle referrals and signposting to community services.
• Build partnerships with maternity teams and diverse organisations.
• Network with MLSW and primary care Link Workers to direct women to the right support.
• Manage time to meet needs of women and families across LMNS.
