Job summary

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client in East London is recruiting a Benefits Assessment Officer to support through a busy period. The role is full-time with home working.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in using Capita's Academy system, be capable of handling diverse benefit claims and interacting with claimants and external organisations. IR35 status applies; the assignment offers ongoing public sector work from home.

Qualifications

• Experience using Capita Academy Revenues and Benefits processing system.
• Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and Universal Credit.
• Experience processing a range of benefit claims including student, international, and self-employed cases.

Responsibilities

• Assess all Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support/Reduction claims across tenure types.
• Process new claims and changes in circumstances.
• Handle Universal Credit cases and assist with backlog clearance.
• Advise claimants on benefit entitlements and changes in legislation.
• Liaise with landlords, employers and the Department for Work and Pensions.

Are you a Benefits Assessment Officer looking for work in East London?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in East London is looking to recruit a Benefits Assessment Officer to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35 and will offer full time home working.

Ideal candidate abilities

• Proficiently use the Academy (Capita) Revenues and Benefits processing system
• Support delivery of the DWP Crisis Resilience Fund
• Assess all types of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support/Reduction claims for all tenure types
• Process new claims and changes in circumstances
• Assess student claims, persons from abroad, and self-employed claims
• Deal with Universal Credit cases
• Assist with backlog clearance
• Deal with ATLAS
• Liaise with external organisations including Landlords, Employers and the Department for Work and Pensions
• Advise claimants on Benefit entitlements and legislation changes
• Handle inbound customer queries
