Thiess is hiring a Bench Hand at Olive Downs. You will assist shotfirers in preparing mining benches for shot firing, including loading explosives under supervision and performing guard duties. The role is based at Olive Downs, with a 7/7 day shift roster and permanent full-time employment.

Key tasks include preparing blast hole patterns, assisting with inspections, and stock-taking explosives for loading into trucks, adhering to safety procedures in a high-hazard environment.

Qualifications

• Open C Class licence is required.
• Current Explosives Clearance for SSAN.
• S11 Surface Induction certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blast hole patterns for shot firing under supervision.
• Assist with pre- and post-blast inspections (blast guard duties).
• Perform stock checks and load explosives into Stemming and MPU Trucks.
