Job summary

SSE Smart Buildings is seeking a Smart Buildings Support Engineer to join our BMS Support team in the North East of England. The role focuses on carrying out planned maintenance, small upgrades and energy‑saving initiatives to help build a more sustainable future.

You will respond to breakdowns, identify system improvements and provide clear reports. A full driving licence is required, and there is an on‑call rota.

Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens, Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls.
• Siemens Apogee experience is advantageous; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works.
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, including out of hours standby.
• Identify system improvements to enhance energy performance.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based on on-site activities.

The role

You will

• Carry out BMS pre planned maintenance, small upgrades and additional works
• Respond to and resolve reactive breakdowns, both within core business hours and as part of the out of hours standby team.
• Identify system improvements such as upgrades, system enhancements and software improvements to ensure energy performance is being managed efficiently.
• Provide detailed and concise reports based upon your onsite activities.

You have

• Good technical experience in Siemens, Trend or Tridium BEMS/HVAC Building Controls. Experience with Siemens Apogee would be advantageous however full training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain a collaborative working environment with all stakeholders, including customers and external service providers.
• Sound levels of customer service, with a professional approach and a dedication to meeting customer expectations, including delivering technical support, coaching and direction.
• An agile working approach, with flexibility to support an on-call rota structure.
• A full driving licence, as you will be travelling to different sites.
